WTFU
Privacy
Effective 6 October 2026
The short version
WTFU doesn't collect anything. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything stays on your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
- Alarms and settings, including your escape phrase.
- Codes you register: an NFC tag's ID or a barcode's contents, and the name you give it.
- Home location, only if you set one. WTFU uses it with iOS geofencing to tell whether you're home, so it can skip alarms when you're away.
- A diagnostics log of what the app did (for example "alarm scheduled"), kept on the device to help fix bugs. It is never sent anywhere.
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Permissions
- Alarms: to schedule alarms with Apple's AlarmKit.
- Camera: to scan barcodes and QR codes. Images are processed on the device and not saved.
- NFC: to read your tag, and to write an ID to a blank tag if you choose to.
- Location (optional): only after you set a home, to skip alarms when you're away.
Children
WTFU isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
